Top NJPW Star Joins In With Criticism Of CM Punk

CM Punk

CM Punk continues to polarise fans and those within the wrestling industry as a top New Japan star joins in with the criticism of the former AEW World Champion.

While CM Punk may have captured the AEW World Championship at All Out in front of his adoring Chicago public, that victory appears to now be nothing more than a footnote in the career of the star.

Following his win, Punk appeared at the post-show media scrum and launched into a tirade against his former friend Colt Cabana, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page. These very public comments led to a fight breaking out backstage which saw a chair as well as punches being thrown.

The end result was a raft of suspensions while Punk, Omega and the Young Bucks were also stripped of their respective championships.

Following the incident Bobby Fish addressed Punk during an interview and was less than complimentary about his former colleague. Fish dismissed Punk’s MMA skills before branding him a “c*nt” as a result of his conduct after their match on Dynamite. In addition, he also criticised the star for using KENTA’s finishing move without even changing the name.

As a screenshot of the the comments made its way around social media, they came to the attention of the New Japan star who said that he agreed with Fish.

Following All Out it was reported that CM Punk sustained a triceps injury. It has since been confirmed that the star has undergone surgery and will be out of the ring for around eight months.
