A current IMPACT Wrestling champion is currently a free agent, having been with the company since the summer of 2020.
Returning to IMPACT Wrestling after a lengthy hiatus last July, Chelsea Green has since become a staple of the Knockouts division. Alongside challenging for the Knockouts World Championship, ‘The Hot Mess’ is currently reigning as the Knockouts World Tag Team Champions alongside Deonna Purrazzo.
Despite this, the former Laurel Van Ness remains a free agent. Per Fightful Select, Chelsea Green has been working without an official deal set in place. This has been the same avenue taken by her husband Matt Cardona, who remained a free agent in IMPACT, allowing him to appear freely elsewhere.
For what it’s worth, Chelsea’s VXT partner Deonna Purrazzo is nearing the end of her deal. It’s believed that IMPACT will enter discussions with Purrazzo, if they haven’t already done so, regarding her future with the company, though they may have an option year on ‘The Virtuosa’s’ contract.
Chelsea Green returned to IMPACT Wrestling at last year’s Slammiversary, debuting as Cardona’s surprise partner vs. Brian Myers and Tenille Dashwood. She and Deonna captured the Knockouts tag titles from Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie during IMPACT’s Emergence special, beginning their first reign with the titles.
Green has also appeared regularly for the National Wrestling Alliance and a pre-Tony Khan-owned Ring Of Honor. She recently challenged Kamille for the NWA World Women’s Championship on the EmPowerrred special of NWA’s Powerrr program.
