Alex Shelley has given a spoiler on his future as speculation mounts on a WWE run.

While many expected them to head for AEW, it has been reported that Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are WWE-bound. The Motor City Machine Gins are said to have spoken to both companies but it seems that WWE won out on negotiations.

On July 20th, Shelley was defeated by Alpha Zo at a joint event by West Coast Pro, DPW, and Prestige Wrestling. Following the loss, Shelley addressed the crowd, telling them that he “might not be back” in a West Coast Pro ring, but said he knows the future of pro wrestling is in safe hands.

“Spoiler alert, I might not come back here, and if I don’t, I know the future of pro wrestling is safe and sound inside a West Coast Pro ring.

“I’ve talked too much, the last thing I want to say is thanks so much for the past two and a half years, it’s been an honour to be here.”

The promo will add to the rumours that Shelley is heading for WWE, as he would be unlikely to make appearances at indie events after signing with the company. While things have been changing recently, main roster and NXT stars appearing on the independent scene are still a rarity.

WWE Star Made Recent Reference To Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin

Rumours of the Motor City Machine Guns heading for WWE rather than AEW went into overdrive on July 9th when current Tag Team Champion Tommaso Ciampa posted a picture of the duo on Instagram.

With the Wrestling Observer Newsletter now reporting that the belief is that the veteran duo are heading to the Sports Entertainment giant, it could be a matter of when and not if they will make their debut there.

Speaking in a recent interview, Booker T stated that it would be “A travesty” if the tag team did not receive an opportunity in WWE.
