The AEW return of ‘Hangman’ Adam Page is reportedly in the works.
Back in March, it was reported that Page was set for a “lengthy” hiatus from AEW. The star has been absent from TV since he took part in a Triple Threat match for Samoa Joe’s World Title that also featured Swerve Strickland. Despite going all out, Page couldn’t get the job done, and Joe was able to retain the title by forcing him to submit to the Coquina Clutch.
Following the loss, The Young Bucks announced that they had suspended Page as a way to explain his absence. It was reported at the time that his absence was likely to last “a few months” and was due to personal reasons rather than injury.
Now, after nearly four months away, Fightful Select has reported that the star will make his return within the next month, and “likely by early July.” While no creative plans have been reported, it is thought that he will be a heel when he comes back.
Adam Page Nearly Missed AEW Revolution
Although Page did go through with his match against Strickland and Samoa Joe, there was a point where his status for Revolution was touch and go. On the February 21st edition of Dynamite, the star appeared to have picked up an injury during a six-man tag team match, which was suspected to be a broken ankle.
However, it turned out the injury was a fallback plan. If Adam Page had been unable to make his match at Revolution, the injury would have been used to write him out of the show.
