Top AEW Star Called CM Punk “A Cancer” During Heated Altercation

CM Punk

CM Punk has become a polarising figure in AEW in recent months, in large part because of his outburst at the post-All Out media scrum.

In the main event of the show, CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley to capture the company’s World Championship for the second time. However, that’s where the good news of the night ended.

Rumours of unrest in the locker room had surfaced around the time of the event, and Punk wasn’t about to take it lying down. Instead, the star went on the offensive at the media scrum following the show, taking aim at several top figures in the company.

The comments led to a brawl backstage involving the Voice of the Voiceless and The Elite among others, and Punk hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since.

Now, Fightful Select has reported that in the immediate aftermath of the brawl, Chris Jericho got involved in a shouting match with Punk, calling Punk “a cancer”.

CM Punk blasts AEW figures in now-deleted social media post

Jericho was one of the subject of Punk’s ire in a now-deleted Instagram story.

In the post, he called the Ocho a “liar and a stooge” while also blasting AEW President Tony Khan and asserting that Dave Meltzer is a liar. On top of this, he claimed said Jon Moxley refused to lose to him in the lead-up to All Out

Since the post went up, it has been reported that it has led to many backstage in the company “losing confidence” that Punk will be back.
