Tony Schiavone may have declared many a night the greatest in the history of pro wrestling in WCW but the AEW announcer says a new night in wrestling now takes that crown.
Schiavone has been a key member of the AEW broadcast team since joining the company in 2019. He commentates alongside WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross and Excalibur on the flagship show, Dynamite as well as providing commentary on AEW Dark: Elevation alongside the giant Paul Wight.
Schiavone has taken up the mantle as one of the best wrestling interviewers as he has held the microphone during many seminal AEW moments including Malakai Black’s debut as well as the heartwarming moment when Sammy Guevara proposed to his longtime girlfriend Pam in front of his hometown Houston crowd.
Known for his over-exuberance at the desk in World Championship Wrestling, many a night was declared by Tony Schiavone as “the greatest night in the history of our great sport.” After decades of fans asking him for a definitive answer to the question of which night was the greatest, he took to social media to give his answer – CM Punk’s debut in AEW:

CM Punk debuted on AEW Rampage, marking his return to the wrestling world for the first time in seven years. His appearance in the first segment of the Friday night show drew over a million viewers and his new t-shirt broke the internet as demand swamped the Pro Wrestling Tees website.
When not on television, Tony Schiavone is the co-host of two hit podcasts. He has fronted What Happens When [also available early and ad-free at AdFreeShows.com] with Conrad Thompson for several years as they look back at the old days of Jim Crockett Promotions. He also teams up with AEW referee Aubrey Edwards to host the AEW Unrestricted podcast where they interview the stars of All Elite Wrestling.
