Tony Nese Set To Make AEW In-Ring Debut

Tony Nese

Tony Nese is set to make his AEW debut as The Premier Athlete’s first match in the company is set to air on AEW Dark.

Nese was a mainstay of the 205 Live show since its inception after he joined WWE on the back of his appearance in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament. At WrestleMania 35 The Premiere Athlete ascended to the top of WWE’s cruiserweight division when he captured the WWE Cruiserweight Title from Buddy Murphy.

The Premier Athlete was released from his WWE contract on June 25th, 2021 as part of continuing cost-cutting measures in the company.

On October 23rd Tony Nese was spotted for the first time on AEW programming as he watched Bryan Danielson take on Dustin Rhodes from ringside on AEW Saturday Night Dynamite.

Nese took part in AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios, Orlando last week and now the company is advertising his first match to air will be against former TNT Title contender and Master Of The Tornado DDT, Fuego Del Sol.

Another former WWE star will be part of that episode of AEW Dark as Santana Garrett faces The Bunny in one-on-one competition.

Nese will be well served to have eyes in the back of his head as he squares off with Fuego Del Sol. The Alabaman Luchador recently teamed up with Fuego II [definitely not Cody Rhodes in a mask] as Too Fast Too Fuego on AEW Dark, resulting in a victory for the masked tag team.
