Tony Khan has opened up on his biggest regret in AEW.

A couple of years ago, in 2023, the professional wrestling world lost one of its biggest gems in Jay Briscoe. One half of the Briscoe Brothers tag team, with Mark Briscoe, Jay Briscoe, passed away following a brutal car crash.

Recently, speaking on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Khan opened up on his biggest regrets. The Jacksonville-based promotion’s president opened up about how much he had tried to bring Jay Briscoe on All Elite Wrestling television, following his purchase of ROH Wrestling in 2022.

Khan stated his inability to bring forward the former ROH Champion on AEW television before his death as his ‘biggest regret’.

“I fought really hard to get Jay Briscoe on the show and I fought really hard to have him. There were multiple times when Mark and Jay Briscoe came to Dynamite and didn’t do anything.

“It was a different time and management. It wasn’t Mr. Zaslav. I could have now literally gone to him.

“I fought really hard to get Jay Briscoe on the show and I really wish I would have been able to have Jay Briscoe on Dynamite just one time. He came to the show many times. That’s my biggest regret, by far.”

One week after his death, his brother Mark Briscoe made his AEW debut in a match against Jay Lethal and has remained one of the most consistent performers on the roster.

AEW Veteran Wants To Extend Contract Because Of How Well Tony Khan Treats Him

AEW Original Jim Ross’ AEW contract is expected to expire soon; however, the veteran recently revealed how he plans on extending it. Speaking on the latest episode of his ‘Grilling JR’ podcast, Ross justified his future intentions.

“I think my contract is up in August,” he said. “I’m not planning on going anywhere. I like my part-time schedule. It lets me keep my batteries charged. I like working for Tony Khan because he’s always been fair and civil to me — and that I appreciate.”

“I have a good relationship with those guys in that respect, but I love where I am because nobody has ever taken care of me as good as Tony Khan is and has. So that’s why I’m so content about being there. I want to stay there in AEW and I want to work more. I want to be able to contribute more, so that’s my goal is to stay healthy and contribute more to the company that pays me. And if that’s wrong, then shame on my a**.”
