AEW President Tony Khan has stated his interest in bringing Thea Trinidad, formerly known as Zelina Vega, to All Elite Wrestling when possible.
Former WWE star Zelina Vega was released from the wrestling giant in November 2020 following a failure to comply with the company’s third part edict in which the promotion required its stars to cease all activity on third party platforms.
However, following the talent’s exit WWE relented on their mandate and allowed stars to keep their outlets with other sanctions put in place on how revenue is earned and split.
Now, the mastermind behind AEW, Tony Khan joined Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on The Wrestling Observer Radio in order to talk about where his company are going in the future. During the conversation, the subject of the real life Thea Trinidad was broached and whether or not she’s on the owner’s radar:
“When we get through this (Women’s title eliminator tournament) and through (AEW Revolution), I would be interested to see where she’s at.”
With her 90-day no compete clause now expired, Trinidad – the real life spouse of current WWE Superstar Aleister Black – is now free to negotiate with any wrestling promotion worldwide including AEW, Ring of Honor, old stomping ground IMPACT Wrestling as well as the legendary Stardom promotion in Japan.
The last time Zelina Vega was seen on WWE television was in October 2020 when her and former client Andrade were dropped with a stereo Sister Abigail on Monday Night Raw after being split in WWE’s annual draft.
