Tony Khan is set to reveal more information about the debut episode of AEW Collision.
The show is due to premiere on June 17th, with that first episode coming live from the United Center in Chicago. This announcement on May 24th seemed to confirm that CM Punk will be appearing on the show after weeks of uncertainty.
The deal to bring Punk back to AEW appeared to hit trouble just a week earlier when he was removed from promotional material used to announce the show.
Along with the launch of Collision, it is believed there will be a roster split, although there have been conflicting reports over how hard or soft this split will be. Despite this, Matt Hardy has revealed that talents are anxious about the split, and there’s a great deal of uncertainty backstage.

Tony Khan Quiet On CM Punk Speculation
Despite CM Punk seemingly being on the verge of a remarkable AEW comeback, Tony Khan has remained quiet on the issue. The AEW president was asked about the two-time AEW World Champion at the post-Double or Nothing media scrum but gave little away. Khan said that he wasn’t prepared to discuss the issue, but promised that the debut of Collision would be one of the biggest AEW shows of the year.
CM Punk hasn’t appeared in AEW since calling out The Elite and others at the post-All Out media scrum back in September. Punk’s comments to the media famously sparked a brawl backstage, the exact details of which will perhaps never be known.
