AEW President Tony Khan has revealed he is working on something he says would be “massive” for AEW after a week of shocks and surprises in the company.
Before the 9th of February edition of Dynamite, Khan promised a new signing a the opening once again of the much-vaunted Forbidden Door. Fans weren’t disappointed as former WWE star Keith Lee debuted for the company on the same night that Bullet Club made its presence felt as Switchblade Jay White made his maiden AEW appearance.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio ahead of Rampage on Friday night Tony Khan has once again teased something big happening in AEW:
“There will be a lot of news in the week ahead. I don’t know if I’ll get it done by tonight, but stay tuned in the week ahead, hopefully. I’m working on something pretty big. It would be massive. I don’t know if it’s what anybody would expect or think it is, but it would be a big deal in pro wrestling. I’m looking forward to hopefully making it happen. Stay tuned. I will hopefully get it done and have more to announce soon.”
It’s not been all arrivals recently in AEW as the shocking news broke that both Cody and Brandi Rhodes were leaving the company that they helped create.
Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has discussed his thoughts on the departures and says the ‘Codyverse’ might not have fit in what AEW has become.
