Tony Khan Shut Down After Comparing “Evil Juggernaut” WWE To Harvey Weinstein [Video]

AEW President Tony Khan was quickly shut down by reporters after comparing WWE to Harvey Weinstein.

As Chief Strategy Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tony Khan is currently in the middle of the NFL Draft. After being attacked by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks on AEW Dynamite, Khan has been sporting a neck brace during the Draft to sell the severity of having taken a Tony Khan Driver.

Speaking in an interview with the NFL Network, Khan opened up about being attacked on Dynamite, saying even his father Shahid Khan was “scared.” After talking about the attack, Khan said that his father loves All Elite Wrestling before touting the company’s success as a new startup:

“AEW, we’ve been doing this for five years. We are the most successful sports startup since the AFL pre-merger. There has not been a challenger brand that has gained as much market share as AEW in many many years. We are like the Pepsi of pro wrestling.”

Khan then turned his attention to competitor WWE, making a comparison that took reporters aback:

“And we’re up against a really evil juggernaut. WWE is our competitor, that’s who we’re facing. AEW like the Pepsi of pro wrestling, WWE’s like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling, and I’m really proud of what we do down here.”

After Khan mentioned Weinstein’s name, the NFL Network reporters quickly interrupted, asking his prognosis for recovery. Khan said they’d have to tune into AEW programming to find out more.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the NFL Network was pleased with Khan’s appearance on the show despite him bringing up such a controversial name. According to the report, they specifically wanted Khan to appear on the show to bring more attention to the Draft.

Tony Khan Believes Competition Is “The Most Real Thing In Wrestling”
