Tony Khan Says Scissoring Is A Great Way To Greet People

AEW President Tony Khan has espoused the benefits of scissoring as the company gets set to celebrate National Scissoring Day on Dynamite!

The year is 2022, CM Punk looks set to walk away from wrestling yet again, Ric Flair has had his last match, and Billy Gunn is the most popular wrestling star on the planet. However, this time Gunn’s popularity has nothing to do with two words, but four – scissor me Daddy Ass!

Billy Gunn’s partnership with The Acclaimed has been nothing short of tremendous both in terms of entertainment and in-ring achievements. At AEW Grand Slam Max Caster and Anthony Bowens defeated Swerve In Our Glory to become AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Between Caster’s raps and Bowens’ scissoring antics with Billy Gunn, the trio are arguably the most beloved stars currently in AEW. As a result, the company will celebrate National Scissoring Day.

In an interview with Variety, Tony Khan discussed the delights of scissoring and expects plenty of it to be happening in schools and workplaces in the coming days:

“They found ways to connect with the audience, but also to have great matches, and you have to be able to do both to be a truly top wrestler. Scissoring is something that really connects to the fans. So I think all this week and especially around Wednesday, and maybe the continuing into Thursday at school the next day, there’s going to be people scissoring at school, at work, and in the audience at AEW, and there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a great way to greet somebody.”

National Scissoring Day will be celebrated live on the third-anniversary edition of Dynamite from Washington D.C.
