Tony Khan Says He Is The Captain In The War Against “Them”

Tony Khan has asserted that he is the ‘captain’ of AEW, IMPACT, and NJPW’s fight against “them” for supremacy in the wrestling industry.

Speaking on AEW’s weekly ‘paid advertisements’ that air on IMPACT on AXS TV alongside Tony Schiavone, Khan told IMPACT that they were fighting the same battle.

Khan stated:

“IMPACT we might argue but the truth is, we’re on the same side. IMPACT you’re one of us, New Japan, they’re one of us. AEW obviously, it’s us. It’s us against them and I don’t have to tell you who they are.”

“IMPACT, before there was an AEW you were a leader in this whole thing but that time has passed. I’m the captain now IMPACT but I’m a strong leader. I’m firm but I’m fair.”

As always Tony Khan took the opportunity to promote an AEW Dynamite that saw Paul Wight make his debut in the company. The former ‘Big Show’ Wight has promised a ‘hall of fame’ calibre debut to take place at the upcoming AEW Revolution event.

Shaquille O’Neal also teamed with Jade Cargill to take on Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet to open the show. In an impressive outing, Cargill would pick up the win for her team by pinning Velvet. This came after Rhodes hit Shaq with a giant crossbody through two tables.

The battle between IMPACT Wrestling and AEW continues at AEW Revolution. Kenny Omega, backed by IMPACT executive Don Callis will defend the AEW Championship. Omega challenged Jon Moxley to an exploding barbed wire deathmatch in the main event.
