AEW President Tony Khan has waxed lyrical after his company pulled off not one but two stunning debuts at the conclusion of their All Out pay-per-view.
All Out was a show packed with surprises as Minoru Suzuki forearmed his way through the ‘forbidden door’ to deliver a wicked piledriver to Jon Moxley. That was followed by Ruby Soho making her destination AEW as she won the Casino Battle Royale, earning a shot at the AEW Women’s Championship.
However, most of the talk after the show came as a result of the end segment following Kenny Omega retaining his AEW World Title against Christian Cage. First Adam Cole made his shocking AEW debut as the former NXT Champion reunited with The Elite after several years apart. Just when that group thought they were going to have things their own way, Bryan Danielson made his eagerly anticipated AEW debut to the delight of the Chicago crowd.
Now with the dust barely settled on the ground-shifting weekend in the wrestling world, Tony Khan has appeared on Busted Open Radio to give his thoughts on Cole and Danielson becoming All Elite:
“This show was almost two years in the making. There are things that happened on this show that had been talked about for so long. I always dreamed of the day that Adam Cole would come to AEW. I always believed that someday it would be possible. I didn’t know it would be so soon. That’s a dream come true. He’s always been a talent we’ve had a close eye on and frankly, he’s been somebody I’ve been very fortunate to be able to get a closer look at because our AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker obviously lives with him. He’s somebody I’ve known and kept an eye on.”
“Bryan Danielson being available and a free agent, his contract expiring and him wanting to come to AEW is not something anybody had planned for or expected a long time ago. That came together relatively quickly. That was huge, huge, huge news for AEW. Those are great surprises that really put this over the top. The way the end was layered, it was just perfect. Everybody I talked to said it was perfect. When we executed it, we did it perfectly.”
The four surprise packages from All Out will make their AEW Dynamite debuts when the show emanates from Cincinnati, Ohio. Cole and Bryan will both appear while New Japan star Suzuki faces hometown hero Jon Moxley and Ruby Soho takes on Britt Baker’s muscle, Jamie Hayter.
