Tony Khan has stated there are multiple AEW video games in the works and divulged details on two of them during the AEW Full Gear post-show media scrum.
Responding to a question from AJ Awesome asking for further details on the upcoming AEW Games announcement, Khan revealed that the company is working on various video games that will span several platforms – specifically mentioning a title for consoles:
“I can’t say too much. We’re making multiple games. We’re working on more than one game in AEW games and we’re going to cater to multiple platforms. We’re going to cater to different kinds of games and different interests. I think we’ll put a title out, a console game that’s best in class for a console game. We’re really excited about it.”
The AEW CEO went on to hint that one of their upcoming titles will be a wrestling management simulator, not entirely unlike the much-loved ‘GM Mode’ featured in the 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions of the WWE SmackDown Vs RAW series:
“We’re going to put something out for those people, like myself, that love putting wrestling cards up together and love to be in the position that I am which is the general manager of AEW. That’ll be fun.”
Khan’s comments come just weeks after AEW filed for various gaming-related trademarks including ‘AEW Games’, ‘All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager’ and ‘Elite GM’. Whilst purely speculation, it sounds like the management simulator could be named either Elite General Manager or Elite GM as the names match up with the concept Khan described.
