Tony Khan AEW

The 5/17 episode of AEW Dynamite was nothing short of newsworthy, including AEW Founder and President Tony Khan revealing the first dates for the new AEW tentpole show, Collision.

According to Tony, the location of the first episode of the program is still being kept secret and will be revealed on the next episode of Dynamite. It’s been rumored for weeks now that Chicago will be the site of the first Collision, and their beloved hometown wrestler, CM Punk, is reportedly returning to AEW that night. However, several episodes beyond that June 17 premiere were unveiled to the audience during Dynamite.

AEW heads to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Saturday, June 24, followed by FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on Thursday, June 29. They’ll travel to Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, for the July 8 episode and then remain in Canada on July 15 for Collision at Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Lastly, it was announced that Collision will be live at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday, July 22.

It’s exciting to note that the July 15 episode of Collision will include the finals of the Owen Hart Cup, which was previously secured for the July 15 episode at the Saddledome.

CM Punk Rumored to be Returning to AEW at the Collision Premiere

As mentioned, reports indicate that former AEW World Champion CM Punk is still set to be a major part of the new AEW tentpole show. Despite not being included in the 5/17 Warner Bros Discovery/AEW press conference where they announced the new program, reports from Fightful and other news outlets still think Punk is coming back.
