AEW President Tony Khan has revealed the huge, highly anticipated clash that will headline AEW Full Gear on November 13th.
With only a handful of weeks until AEW’s next pay-per-view spectacular Tony Khan has named the match that will close the show.
Speaking with Robbie Barstool on My Mom’s Basement, Khan announced that AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will defend his championship against “Hangman” Adam Page. The news comes after Page returned on the October 6th episode of Dynamite to win the Casino Ladder Match. In the process, he earned a future shot at the AEW World Champion.
It now appears that the clash will come sooner rather than later with Page squaring off against Omega at the November spectacular.
It was originally believed that the pair would meet at AEW All Out, but Page missed the event after taking time off due to the impending birth of his first child. Page was replaced in the main event by Christian Cage.
“Last year [the AEW World Title eliminator tournament] culminated with Kenny and Hangman, which is very fitting because now as we go into Full Gear this year, Kenny is the champion and he’s facing Hangman,”
At time of writing no official announcement has been made.
During the interview, Khan also confirmed that more details about the upcoming ‘Owen Hart Cup’ would be unveiled when Dynamite returns to Wednesday nights. AEW’s flagship show will be broadcast on Saturday night for the next two weeks due to the start of the NHL season.
Khan has also seemingly revealed the full card for Full Gear while at a Jacksonville Jaguars game. The AEW boss was pictured holding a stack of papers, one of which appeared to feature notes relating to the event.
