Tony Khan References CM Punk For First Time Since All Out Backstage Brawl

CM Punk

Since the fallout after CM Punk’s media scrum comments after AEW’s All Out pay-per-view, he has essentially been non-existent from the company, especially with Tony Khan.

Rumors are swirling that All Elite Wrestling‘s investigation into the matter have come to an end, or at least getting close to concluding, and this because of The Elite being promoted by the company to make a return, as well as the reports about CM Punk working on leaving the promotion.

Tony Khan Finally Speaks About CM Punk

Recently on SiriusXM’s “Busted Open Radio,” Tony Khan would be speaking about the Ring of Honor (ROH) World Championship’s prestige, and he would bring up CM Punk by name for the first time since AEW All Out.

“We’ve demonstrated the great history of the [Ring of Honor] Championship. Of course, Chris [Jericho] is the champion now, but there have been a lot of great Ring of Honor champions. Some of the big names that have held the title, and some of the great former champions, include AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Claudio Castagnoli, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and many others.

Tony Khan continued:

So a lot of great wrestlers across Ring of Honor, and people in AEW, people in WWE, New Japan, all over the world, that have held that belt, and it’s really one of the most prestigious title lineages in all of wrestling.”

Back in September, Chris Jericho took the ROH World Championship away from Castagnoli, and since then, he has waged an all out war against Ring Of Honor and their past champions. So far, Jericho faced off against Bryan Danielson, Bandido and Dalton Castle, with victories in all three.

Chris Jericho faced off against Colt Cabana in defense of the Ring of Honor (ROH) World Championship Wednesday night on Dynamite, and would retain the title against the latter.
