Tony Khan Promises “One Of The Most Important Announcements In The History Of AEW”

AEW President Tony Khan

On the May 10th episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan revealed that in a matter of days, a huge announcement is coming concerning the future of All Elite Wrestling.

During a short backstage promo, Khan said that it was clearer than ever that the company is capable of producing more content and that there are stars queuing up to be involved.

“I think that tonight in Detroit we have one of the strongest Dynamite cards we’ve ever had. This is one of the best line-ups, with some of the best matches, and some of the best wrestlers in AEW on tonight’s show. In addition to all the great wrestlers and all of the great wrestlers you’re going to see tonight, in the back, there are literally stars lined up looking for chances to wrestle in AEW.

I think it’s clearer than ever that AEW can produce even more great content every week.

I’d like you to stay tuned to TNT next Wednesday for a huge announcement, and then please join us next Wednesday on AEW Dynamite where we’ll follow up on one of the most important announcements ever, in the history of AEW.”

It is widely believed that the announcement will come at the Warner Bros Discovery upfronts which is the same day as Dynamite. The announcement is expected to be the launch of AEW Collision which will run on Saturdays. Given the fact that Khan said viewers need to stay tuned to TNT, this is where the show is expected to land.

During Dynamite, Miro and Thunder Rosa were both seen heading to speak with Khan backstage, something he gave a nod to in his statement. It has been reported by Fightful Select that the returns of Miro, Thunder Rosa, and “others” are directly linked to the launch of Collision.

Tony Khan Makes No Comment On CM Punk

While Tony Khan didn’t reference CM Punk on the show, it is expected that he will make his return on the debut episode of Collision on June 17th from the United Center. As well as Punk’s return it has also been reported that there is a “marquee match” planned for the show.
