Tony Khan “Optimistic” About Adam Cole & Hangman Page Returning To AEW

Adam Cole and Hangman Adam Page

In recent months, both Adam Cole and Hangman Adam Page have been absent from AEW TV with both having suffered concussions weeks apart.

In the case of Adam Cole, he has not been seen since AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26th. During the event, the star clashed with Hangman Adam Page, Jay White and Kazuchika Okada over the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

During the bout, Cole suffered a concussion, just weeks after reportedly suffering a similar issue in a match with Samoa Joe. A recent report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that a number of figures are “very concerned” for the star.

Meanwhile, AEW confirmed that Hangman Adam Page was also diagnosed with a concussion following his AEW World Championship match with Jon Moxley on the October 18th edition of Dynamite. Page took a huge lariat from Moxley which saw him landing awkwardly.

Tony Khan provides update on Adam Cole and Hangman Page

Following Full Gear on November 19th, AEW President Tony Khan took questions in a post-show media scrum and was asked about the status of both men. Khan said he has been in contact with both and, while the two have different situations, he is optimistic both will return to the company.

“I’ve been in contact with both of them, both of them are doing very well. Again, they’re different situations but for both of them I’m optimistic we can get both of them back but I can’t say when either of them [returning] would be exactly.

“But I do think they will both be very well received and there’s a lot of fans looking forward to the return of the Adams. I think Hangman Page and Adam Cole both have a big perception upon their return and the most important thing is that both of them are doing really well.”
