Tony Khan Labels Toni Storm “The Greatest Actress In Hollywood”

Tony Khan has heaped praise on AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, calling her “the greatest actress in Hollywood” following her role in the newly released Queen of the Ring movie.

The film tells the story of Mildred Burke, a revolutionary figure in women’s wrestling, and features Storm in a key role as Clara Mortenson, a female wrestler who was a large draw during the 1930s and early 40s. Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Khan shared details on how Storm became involved in the project.

“I talked to Ash at the beginning when he was working on this movie. He asked me about casting Toni Storm. Toni Storm is the greatest actress in Hollywood, so I was very supportive of it,” Khan said.

Khan also highlighted AEW’s involvement in the film, confirming that multiple AEW talents played a part in the production. However, he made it clear that Storm’s presence was a perfect fit.

“We have other people in AEW involved in the project, but Toni Storm is the AEW Women’s World Champion, first and foremost. She’s the person I think of when I think of Hollywood and when I think of pro wrestling, and they fit like a glove.”

Khan revealed that he had an early discussion with the film’s director, Ash, to help facilitate Storm’s role.

“I talked to Ash for about an hour on the phone when he was first working on the movie before he cast Toni in the movie. He reached out to me about it, and I worked around the schedule. Toni needed to take a little time off for filming. This was a long time ago and it all worked out just absolutely fantastic.”

Queen of the Ring was released on March 7 and has been well received by critics and fans alike, garnering a 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.0 rating on IMDB.
