Tony Khan Ignored Email From Surprising Former WWE Star After All Out Brawl

Tony Khan AEW

AEW President Tony Khan had his hands full last September, and in the midst of trying to manage the company with his top stars suspended, he failed to respond to an email from former WWE star EC3.

The events following AEW All Out have become the stuff of legend. Moments after winning the AEW World Championship by defeating Jon Moxley, CM Punk sat beside Tony Khan in a post-show media scrum and launched into a verbal tirade against former friend Colt Cabana, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, and though he didn’t call them out by name, the AEW EVP’s.

Enraged, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega confronted Punk in his dressing room, and the brawl that ensued is now infamous. Not only were punches thrown, Punk’s friend and trainer Ace Steel reportedly threw a chair at Nick Jackson and bit Kenny Omega. Everyone involved in the brawl was suspended, and Punk and The Elite were stripped of the titles they won at All Out.

EC3 Emailed Tony Khan Following AEW All Out Brawl

Speaking in a new interview with The Wrestling Outlaws, former IMPACT and WWE star EC3 revealed that he emailed the AEW President with a message of support in the aftermath of the All Out brawl. He’s unsure if Khan saw the email as he never received a response.

“I emailed Tony. Not at all with the intent to get a job, that’s how I led off the email. It was when all the initial Punk and Young Bucks and all that thing went off. Just cause I thought he might be a guy who lacked anybody that would just … he doesn’t have a close relationship with to tell him something.

“It was just an inspirational, leadership message, because in theory, I do believe we need as much competition as possible for the sanctity of the industry. So I sent a hopefully inspirational message on leadership and what it takes. I’ve never heard anything back.”
