Ricochet

Ricochet Channels Itachi Uchiha at AEW Double or Nothing 2025

Ricochet made waves at AEW Double or Nothing 2025 — and not just for his win over Mark Briscoe. The high-flyer had anime fans buzzing as he made his entrance dressed in a robe inspired by Naruto’s iconic anti-hero, Itachi Uchiha.

Wearing a sleek black robe adorned with a red “R” on the front, Ricochet kept one arm tucked inside and the other hanging free — a direct nod to Itachi’s signature Akatsuki cloak look. While the design was adapted, the visual homage was unmistakable, and it lit up social media among wrestling and anime fans alike.

Itachi, known as the “Clan Killer,” remains one of the most beloved and complex characters in anime, and Ricochet’s tribute was a creative way to blend pop culture with pro wrestling spectacle. His entrance was as stylish as his performance — a perfect blend of flair and fandom.

Trick Williams

Trick Williams Makes History by Capturing the TNA World Title at WWE NXT Battleground

Trick Williams stands tall after WWE NXT Battleground

In a groundbreaking moment for modern wrestling, Trick Williams became the first WWE-contracted superstar to win the TNA World Championship, doing so at WWE NXT Battleground 2025 in a high-stakes clash with Joe Hendry.

The match, which pitted NXT’s rising ace against the charismatic TNA champion, was a hard-fought battle from bell to bell. Hendry, who had held the title since TNA Genesis in January and even crossed paths with legends like Randy Orton at WrestleMania, refused to go down easy. The bout saw both men deliver punishing offense, but things took a dramatic turn near the end.

In a key moment, Hendry was inadvertently dropped onto the TNA title belt, which he was clutching before the referee intervened. Trick capitalized with his signature running knee, scoring the pin and sealing a historic victory that now ties WWE and TNA in a way no one saw coming.

WWE’s ongoing partnership with TNA has already yielded intriguing crossovers, but Williams’ win marks an unprecedented milestone that could open the door to more title defenses — or invasions — across promotions.

Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green Injury Update: WWE Star Expected to Stay on TV Despite Broken Nose

Scrapped WrestleMania Plans For Chelsea Green

There’s good news for fans of Chelsea Green following her tough loss and injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Despite suffering a broken nose during her match against Zelina Vega, Green is expected to remain on TV.

Per Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that it was a clean break and “not bad,” adding, “I think she is going to stay on television from what I gather.”

Chelsea Green’s injury occurred during her Women’s United States Championship match against Zelina Vega at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The match took a brutal turn when Vega hit Green with a botched 619 catching her flush in the face. The impact appeared to immediately damage Green’s nose, and though the final moments were edited in the TV broadcast, fans in attendance and online clips confirmed she was visibly bleeding.

Tatanka Teases WWE Future for His Sons: "They're Keeping Their Radar on Them"

WWE could soon welcome another generation of Native American wrestling talent.

Speaking on The Power Talk podcast, wrestling legend Tatanka revealed that his two sons may follow in his footsteps — and WWE is already paying attention.

Tatanka proudly shared that one of his sons, a two-time national wrestling champion, is only in ninth grade, and that both sons could one day form a Native American tag team in WWE.

“WWE has already talked to me about them. They’re very aware about them. They’re keeping their radar on them.”

Tatanka was spotted backstage at the recent Saturday Night’s Main Event in Florida, joined by other legends like Leilani Kai, The US Express, Bushwacker Luke, and Jesse Ventura, who even returned to commentary.

AEW

Willow Nightingale Makes History at AEW Double or Nothing, Re-Signs Despite WWE Interest

Willow Nightingale makes her entrance in AEW

AEW’s Double or Nothing 2025 featured standout performances, but none more historic than Willow Nightingale’s. Competing alongside Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, and The Opps in the Anarchy in the Arena match, Nightingale became the first woman ever to participate in the chaotic stipulation — and her team walked away with the win.

According to PWInsider, WWE had shown interest in Nightingale if she had hit free agency. Instead, she re-signed with AEW earlier this month on a multi-year deal.

Speaking on the Gabby AF podcast, the former TBS Champion said she’s staying because she still has “so much more” to do in AEW:

“We’re like the punk rock show… we’re out here doing things because we’re passionate… and I don’t think I’m done with it. Right now, I’m super, super duper happy.”

Tony Khan Elaborates On Decision To Move AEW To Smaller Venues

AEW President Tony Khan didn’t hold back when asked about WWE’s decision to run competing shows against Double or Nothing 2025.

Speaking at the post-Double or Nothing 2025 media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan addressed WWE’s ongoing counter-programming tactics head-on.

When asked about WWE scheduling NXT Battleground and Saturday Night’s Main Event on the same weekend as AEW’s pay-per-view, Khan didn’t mince words. He drew a historical comparison, saying the scheduling conflict was “the most consistent… since Jim Crockett Promotions,” referencing WWE’s aggressive competition with the once-thriving 1980s NWA territory that ultimately folded under the weight of WWE’s dominance.

Khan then made it clear that AEW’s situation would not mirror that downfall. “This will go a lot differently than that did,” he asserted, signaling both confidence in AEW’s trajectory and a refusal to be pushed aside by WWE’s long-standing playbook. His comments served as both a nod to wrestling history and a declaration of AEW’s resilience amid the modern-day wrestling wars.

Khan’s comments come after WWE ran NXT Battleground and Saturday Night’s Main Event on the same weekend as AEW’s flagship show. The rivalry isn’t cooling either — both promotions will go head-to-head again on July 12, with AEW’s All In: Texas going up against another SNME from Atlanta, followed by WWE’s Evolution II reportedly set for the next night.
