Tony Khan clapped back when one fan brought up criticism of AEW Dynamite 200.
August 2nd, 2023 marked the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite, and following Hikaru Shida’s AEW Women’s Championship win in the main event, the roster and crew came out on the ramp to celebrate the milestone. A large graphic thanking company president Tony Khan appeared on the screen.
One fan recently took to social media to criticize the graphic, writing:
“Tony Khan putting up a Thank You Tony Khan graphic is the billionaire equivalent of Michael Scott buying himself the Worlds Greatest Boss Mug. When WWE hits milestones they thank the fans. When Tony hits milestones he thanks himself.”
Khan was quick to respond to the criticism, saying that he had nothing to do with the graphic; instead, it was a gesture from the company’s crew that came as a complete surprise.
“It was a surprise from the crew after the live 200th episode of Dynamite. It was a nice moment and unexpected. I appreciated it very much.”

Tony Khan Believes AEW Is The Best It’s Ever Been
During a recent interview with Sports Grid, the AEW President was asked about recent shakeups in the corporate world of wrestling in light of Vince McMahon’s resignation from WWE and Scott D’Amore being fired from TNA. Choosing to focus instead on AEW, Khan praised the company for the work that they are doing and feels that it is the best time for All Elite Wrestling:
“It’s a really exciting time for AEW right now. The company is doing some of our best wrestling ever. Right now is the best AEW has been. It’s an exciting time for the wrestling business. There are a lot of crazy things happening. It’s a really important time in wrestling for a variety of reasons. Somethings outside of wrestling that are bigger than wrestling. For us, we’re doing the best wrestling we’ve done in AEW right now.” (h/t Fightful)
