Speaking to the media ahead of AEW Winter Is Coming, Tony Khan has provided an update on the status of Brodie Lee.
The leader of The Dark Order has been absent from AEW television since losing the AEW TNT Championship to Cody in a brutal dog collar match on the October 7th episode of AEW Dynamite. It had originally been reported that Mr. Brodie Lee had been dealing with an injury, and that had been the reason for his absence, but Khan’s somewhat cryptic choice of words has lead to speculation that there may be other factors at play.
When the subject of Brodie Lee’s absence was brought up Khan declined to go into why why ‘The Exalted One’ had been away, commenting:
“Yeah, well I can’t comment on him not being here but he’s one of our top wrestlers and, you know, we’ll be excited to have him with us soon…I hope.”
Lee has not only been absent from TV but he also not been active on social media since tweeting “Much respect to Cody Rhodes” the day after the pair clashed on Dynamite.
Elsewhere in the media call Khan spoke at length to Inside The Ropes’ own Kenny McIntosh about another former WWE Superstar Miro. Declaring that he was going to be “a huge star” with AEW before adding that he needed rebuilding after WWE had “treated him like shit” for years.
AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming is set to take place on December 2nd and will be headlined by Jon Moxley defending his AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega. While AEW’s President also revealed that IWGP United States Champion Moxley would not be travelling to Japan to appear NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15 in January.
