Tony Khan Gives Positive Health Update On Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega is currently out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

Last year the former AEW World Champion revealed he had been diagnosed with diverticulitis and would be unable to compete “indefinitely“.

It was later revealed that while he is now said to be on the road to recovery, things could have been much worse if he didn’t seek medical attention. However, since the unfortunate news broke further updates have been scarce, but now company President Tony Khan has provided some positive information concerning the AEW original.

Will Kenny Omega return to AEW?

The head of the promotion was a guest on SportsGrid and was asked about Omega’s condition and his AEW future.

Kenny, we were all very worried about him. He’s doing better but he was seriously sick, and his life could have been threatened had he not gotten to the doctors when he had. He was really sick and he’s thankfully doing much better and we’re all wishing Kenny the best and hoping and looking forward to seeing Kenny Omega back in AEW as soon as he’s healthy.

Omega last performed in the ring during an episode of Collison on December 5th 2023 where he fought and defeated Ethan Page.

In the same interview, Khan also addressed the absence of Britt Baker. The former AEW Women’s World Champion has been on the injured list since September 2023. When asked about her status, Kahn said:

Britt Baker’s been out, she was injured and we’ve got a lot of great wrestlers that have been out injured. So, I think this year will be great not only for the great free agents but also for some of the stars that have been sidelined coming back.

When discussing a recent AEW match, Kenny Omega admitted that it left lasting damage.
