Tony Khan Details Safety Measures In AEW In Light Of Shocking Vince McMahon Allegations

Tony Khan is asked about wrestler safety in his own promotion as the Vince McMahon allegations that horrified the wrestling world continues to be discussed.

Horrifying allegations would be made public on January 25th, accusing Vince McMahon of sex trafficking and multiple counts of sexual assault by former WWE employee Janel Grant. Due to the graphic nature of the 67-page lawsuit and the length of time that McMahon’s alleged behaviour went on, many are questioning the safety of all wrestling promotions and what is being put in place to prevent these abhorrent actions from happening again.

During an interview with Fansided, Khan was asked about the news surrounding the allegations and if AEW is doing anything to protect the female performers. While Khan could not comment on what is going on in the rival promotion, he outlined what is being done in AEW to make the working environment a safe one:

“I can’t comment on the terrible allegations against WWE right now. That’s something people are paying a lot of attention to right now, with good reason. For us, first and foremost, trying to create a safe locker room environment for everybody, women and men, and we have a really good bond. I think we have a great locker room, and everyone knows there is a support system there.

There are a lot of channels, and I think everybody feels very good about having a safe place and a safe workspace and there are people you can talk to. There are people in the office, but even on the wrestling side. For us, I think that’s the most important thing in any office of any workplace, is just having a lot of people that will listen and will want to make the company a safe and good place to work,”

Tony Khan Has Previously Addressed Allegations Directed At AEW Star

Shortly before the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023, allegations against Chris Jericho surfaced online and quickly became a major talking point on social media. With the allegations being discussed so close to the event, many expected Khan to be questioned at the press conference that took place after the show. When asked about the Chris Jericho allegations, Tony Khan addressed the media and declared AEW to be the safest wrestling company in the world.
