Tony Khan Reveals Current ROH Champion Is Injured

AEW boss Tony Khan Ring of Honor

Tony Khan has revealed that one of Ring of Honor’s biggest stars has been struck down by injury.

At a media call for the upcoming AEW All Out pay-per-view, Tony Khan revealed that ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez is out with an injury, meaning she wasn’t under consideration for a match on the card.

While Khan did not reveal the details of Martinez’s injury, he stressed that other Ring of Honor World Champions would be represented on the show.

“Mercedes Martinez, the Women’s World Champion of Ring of Honor, is actually out with an injury, but will be back soon. A lot of other Ring of Honor world champions are represented on this card.”

Martinez isn’t the only Women’s Champion who is being forced to miss the event with current AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa also currently on the side-lines. Rosa is currently dealing with a back injury meaning that she isn’t defending her title against Toni Storm as originally scheduled.

Instead, Storm, Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker will meet in a Fatal-Four-Way Match to crown an Interim World Champion.

Tony Khan has faced criticism for providing little time on Dynamite for Rosa to to address her injury, in comparison to Punk being given an in-ring promo when he announced his own injury.
