Tony Khan Continues To Push The Beast Mortos In AEW Following Mercedes Moné Reveal

AEW's Mercedes Moné, The Beast Mortos, and Tony Khan

AEW is gearing up for milestone editions of Dynamite and Collision on the road to All In. Mercedes Moné and The Beast Mortos are one of the biggest All Elite stories from the past few weeks, and as Tony Khan continues the push for his top star, he’s now pushing her significant other.

The CEO recently made history by capturing the CMLL World Women’s Championship and the EWA Women’s Championship, while holding the AEW TBS Championship and the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship. Moné then made headlines for a different reason as her real-life relationship with The Beast Mortos was revealed.

The Minotaur of Wrestling was pushed at Grand Slam in Mexico City last week as Tony Khan pulled major strings so that Mortos could surprisingly replace Claudio Castagnoli in the main event, which saw The Death Riders, The Young Bucks and the LFI heavyweight defeat The Opps, Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland. Mortos has been a mid-card mainstay, but now he’s invading the AEW World Championship scene, and the All Elite fanbase is fueling rumors and speculation on if the push has to do with Mortos’ real-life love interest.

The Beast Mortos vs. Hangman Page Set For AEW Dynamite

Tony Khan took to X tonight to announce that Dynamite will feature The Beast Mortos vs. Adam Page for the first-time-ever. The match comes as Hangman prepares to challenge World Champion Jon Moxley at All In on July 12.

“Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite 8pm ET/7pm CT on TBS + Max TONIGHT! Hangman Page vs @BeastMortos After aligning with the Death Riders + The Elite to win the main event last Wednesday in Arena México, Beast Mortos will fight vs #1 contender to the World Title Hangman Page TONIGHT!,” Tony Khan wrote.

Tonight’s Dynamite from the Accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, WA will also feature the following: Kota Ibushi returns vs. Trent Beretta, Willow Nightingale vs. Athena vs. Thunder Rosa vs. Kris Statlander in a Casino Gauntlet qualifier, Roderick Strong vs. Mark Briscoe vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Bandido in a Men’s Casino Gauntlet qualifier, plus appearances by Toni Storm and The Hurt Syndicate.
