AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed another star is currently on the shelf with an undisclosed injury.
Over the past few months, the AEW roster has been hit with numerous injuries. Most notably, CM Punk was forced to take time off for surgery soon after winning the AEW World Championship, while Bryan Danielson has been out of action since taking part in the violent Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing back in May. Kenny Omega is also currently taking time off for various injuries.
Now, Tony Khan has revealed that Penelope Ford is also on the injured list. Responding to a fan on social media who thought Khan had given up on her, the AEW President said it was the “total opposite” and he’s looking forward to Ford getting medically cleared to return.
“Not at all, total opposite in fact; she’s a great wrestler, and I can’t wait until she’s medically cleared to come back. She’s been in some classic @AEW matches, and hopefully she’ll be in many more!”

Penelope Ford was last seen on AEW TV back in January when she defeated Angelica Risk on an episode of Dark. However, while she hasn’t addressed the undisclosed injury, Ford has been active on social media and will be taking part in a meet and greet alongside The Butcher and The Blade for Connecticut-based ‘ConnectiCon’ which takes place from July 14th-17th.
