Tony Khan has confirmed a previous report that another member of the AEW roster is out injured.
Ahead of Dynasty, multiple wrestlers were reportedly sidelined with injury until further notice. While Jay White’s injury was acknowledged on commentary and by White himself, who was removed from the Owen Hart Tournament, others were not directly referenced.
Following a previous report from Fightful Select that former International Champion Orange Cassidy is out of action, Khan confirmed at the post-show press scrum that Cassidy is also injured:
“The past two weeks, it’s no secret, the company got bit hard by an injury bug. The roster and locker room really rallied hard. To lose wrestlers like Orange Cassidy and then Jay White, back-to-back weeks, those are two of the top stars in the company and we would have loved to had both of them here tonight and everybody stepped up,”
The report also detailed the nature of Cassidy’s injury, believing it to be a torn pec. It is still unknown how much TV time Cassidy will miss or if the former International Champion will require surgery.
Tony Khan Responds To Fan Backlash
Much like Revolution, fans felt that the end of Dynasty left the show with a flat ending due to the convoluted way that Jon Moxley retained the World Championship over Swerve Strickland. With fans letting their opinions on the match be known, Tony Khan has responded to the backlash and whether he considered “calling an audible.”
Everyone at Inside The Ropes continues to wish Orange Cassidy and Jay White a full and speedy recovery.
H/t to Fightful.
