Tony Khan Confirms CM Punk Has ‘Office Job’ In AEW

AEW President Tony Khan has seemingly confirmed that suspended former AEW Champion CM Punk has an office job in the company.

Tony Khan has had his hands full in recent weeks in AEW ever since chaos erupted following the All Out pay-per-view in early September.

CM Punk defeated Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title in the main event but the celebrations will quickly put aside when Punk fired off at several people during the post-show media scrum while a visibly uncomfortable Tony Khan could only look on.

This caused Punk to be allegedly confronted by The Young Bucks with a fight breaking out. The Bucks, Punk, Kenny Omega, and AEW producer Ace Steel are still suspended by the company as a result with Punk and The Elite being stripped of their AEW World and Trios Championships.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Tony Khan discussed what goes into producing shows for AEW each week and dropped an interesting detail that apparently CM Punk has been working in an ‘office job’ for the company:

“I’ll come in with an outline and I’ll sit down with Tony Schiavone, QT [Marshall], a couple of people backstage, Sonjay [Dutt] has become really valuable. Then there’s a lot of people throughout the years that you’d go to whatever their stuff is. I think there’s specific people even if they’re not working in an office job per se like a Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley. And of course, even people who are working in office jobs like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and CM Punk.”

Whether or not CM Punk has an official role or title is not known but Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were made Executive Vice Presidents of AEW when the company was formed in 2019, as was former AEW star Cody Rhodes.
