AEW President Tony Khan has cleared up any confusion surrounding Keith Lee’s status ahead of a big tag team match at Fyter Fest.
Night One of Fyter Fest will take place in Savannah, Georgia with a huge tag team main event on offer. AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks will put their title on the line against both Team Taz’s duo of Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks as well as the team of Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland.
Lee’s involvement in the match had been the cause of much speculation online after he took to social media to say he had received some “less than stellar news”:
“Got some very much less than stellar news today…. No matter the results, tomorrow’s match belongs to my two brothers. It’s all I can do until I return. Love you boys.”

Speaking on Busted Open Radio Tony Khan confirmed that Keith Lee would be at Fyter Fest to challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championship and said Lee had a family issue:
“Keith is here. He is wrestling tonight. He had a family situation. I don’t want [to get into it], it’s not my place. But Keith is here and here to wrestle, as I understand it. I can’t really comment on what’s happening, but we’re going to support him through what is happening.”
