Tony Khan Believes The Future Of AEW Is “So Bright”; Addresses Recent Media Rights Report

Tony Khan Believes The Future Of AEW Is

Tony Khan has commented on the recent reports surrounding AEW and is in a very good mood about the future.

While nothing has been officially announced, many are expecting news regarding the next phase of All Elite Wrestling’s media rights deal to be released imminently. Although the promotion has gone through some uncertainty in the past year with drops in viewing figures and live attendance, a recent report provided more positive reading as it stated that a new AEW deal is expected to be announced imminently and with a bump in media rights fees.

While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Khan told Dave LeGreca that the future of his company is so bright that he needs sunglasses. Khan also clarified that although he has not spoken to The Puck, who broke the news regarding the rumoured new deal, he is certain that a WBD renewal will come:

“I didn’t bring my sunglasses to the Sirius studio today, but the future is so bright, I need them. The future is that bright. I know there have been a lot of reports. I have not done any of the leaking. With all due respect to the fine people at the Puck establishment and the Puck people, I didn’t talk to them. I know they have been reporting things that are very interesting. There are a lot of reports and rumors. I have not confirmed, and Warner Brothers have not confirmed anything officially. We have a really exciting future there. I can say with 100% certainty, AEW and TBS and TNT are here to stay for a long time.”

Tony Khan Could Be Closing In On Major Signing

In 2024, AEW secured 3 of the biggest free agents as Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone all became All Elite back in the spring. Always monitoring the free agent market, some major names could also be joining AEW very soon.

Also in the interview, Tony Khan compared 2 shows to an iconic film franchise.
