Tony Khan is looking to make a major impact with next year’s AEW All In.
Just over a week before All In 2024 was set to take place at Wembley Stadium, AEW announced that the 2025 event would be moving out of London and would instead be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. With All In now being recognised as the biggest show of the year and with the 2 biggest crowds in AEW history being at the Wembley shows, Khan has another record in mind.
The Dallas Morning News reports that the current attendance records for Globe Life Field are 43,598 people for a Morgan Wallen concert and 42,472 and 42,500 fans for games 1 and 2 of the 2023 World Series respectively. Speaking with the publication, Khan stated that it’s a record he has his eye on:
“We think we have a chance to set the all-time attendance record. That would be pretty cool.”
Also in the interview, Khan commented on moving out of London in 2025 and what it means to be hosting a show in Texas:
“It is a huge announcement on many, many levels. AEW All In is such an important event in sports, and it’s one of the most marquee nights in pro wrestling. I think for us, it’s the end-all, be-all. To announce the location is very special to us and Arlington, Texas, it’s a very special place. And the timing of this is so … the timing of this feels like kismet. It’s so incredible that we’ve been able to come to Arlington and have this run of shows that has been so energetic and fun to go to the Esports Stadium and put on shows every weekend.
“I think that the energy of the Texas wrestling fans is unparalleled, and we’ve been waiting for so long to make this announcement. For so long, fans have asked, when is AEW going to do a pay-per-view in Texas? It comes up all the time. And every time we do a show in Texas, the fans deliver. And I’ve been waiting a long time to give that answer. We do everything big here in Texas, so it’s very fitting that we bring our biggest event, and make history here with our first Texas pay-per-view.”
Tony Khan Comments On Another Major Venue Hosting Upcoming Show
Over its 5 year history, All Elite Wrestling has hosted multiple pay-per-views in the cities of Chicago and Las Vegas with All Out and Double or Nothing being mainstays for non-pandemic events. With the recent introduction of The Sphere in Las Vegas, Tony Khan was aksed if there were any plans to host an AEW event in the venue.
In recent news, Tony Khan responded to reports regarding an AEW show in Australia.
