Tony Khan Attacked On AEW Dynamite, What Happened After The Show Went Off The Air?

For the first time in AEW’s history, Tony Khan was involved in a physical angle.

In the main event segment of the April 24th episode of Dynamite, the AEW President was lying unconscious in the ring following an attack from The Eite and Jack Perry.

At the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, Perry made his shock return to the company and helped The Young Bucks win the Tag Team Championships for a third time. Showing up to the following Dynamite taping at Daily’s Place, security tried to prevent Perry from entering the venue but was overruled by the EVPs.

Later that night, Perry stood in an AEW ring for the first time since All In back in August 2023. Inviting Khan to join him in the ring, Perry admitted that they had their differences but was looking to put it all behind them so that they could work together to make All Elite Wrestling as big as possible. Both men embraced and Perry smiled at the camera before the shocking events unfolded.

Perry struck Khan in the ribs with the microphone, leading to The Bucks and Kazuchika Okada storming to the ring. As Khan made his way to his feet the assault continued as The Young Bucks spiked Khan onto the mat with their finisher.

Following the attack, referees, wrestlers and Tony’s father Shad Khan all came to the ring to check on the wellbeing of the AEW founder.

In recent news it has been reported that AEW Dynamite saw its lowest TV rating since 2021.

Tony Khan Continues To Sell Attack

A report on what happened after the show went off the air has been provided by Fightful Select. On the April 27th episode of Rampage, a Parking Lot Brawl will air between Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor. This was filmed after Dynamite went off the air. Khan was in attendance for the filming of the match and was wearing a neck brace and continued to sell the injury.

The 2024 NFL Draft will begin on April 25th and will likely feature Khan making another televised appearance due to his father being the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wrestlers whom Fightful spoke to did question if Khan may wear the neck brace while on camera for the upcoming draft, which he did.

Following the attack, Tony Khan has been labelled as “questionable” by the NFL for the upcoming draft.

Also on Dynamite, Will Ospreay won a gauntlet match to earn the right to challenge for an AEW championship at Double or Nothing.
