AEW President Tony Khan has addressed the technical problems that his company faced while trying to stream internationally on Bleacher Report.
On February 28, AEW aired the Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament on the streaming platform which included Hikaru Shida, Mei Suruga and Rin Kadokura vs. Emi Sakura, Veny and Maki Itoh, Yuka Sakazaki vs. Ryo Mizunami and Riho vs. Thunder Rosa.
However, problems became evident with the streaming of the event when international fans filed complaints that they were unable to watch the coverage. The technical fault caused Tony Khan to take drastic action and upload all the matches to AEW’s YouTube channel in a bid that none of his audience missed out.
Taking to Twitter, Khan noted his regret at what occurred and that he was let down by his broadcast partners:
“I’m sorry people had issues @BleacherReport’s international stream. I was promised multiple times by our partner that the Eliminator matches would stream in real time for free for all international fans. Since that’s not the case, I’ve just put the matches up for free on YouTube.”
