Tony Khan Addresses “Dangerous” Freak Accident On Rampage

AEW President Tony Khan has addressed that freak accident that saw Bryan Danielson trapped between the ramp and the ring at the most recent Rampage taping.

The May 20th edition of Dynamite went off the air as a wild brawl broke out between Daniel Bryan, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz and the Jericho Appreciation Society as tensions between the teams reached boiling point.

As the fighting continued, Danielson suffered a bizarre accident as his leg fell between the ring and the entrance ramp, trapping him in place.

The star was trapped for up to ten minutes, before he was eventually freed. Once back on his feet, the star limped backstage, but was not believed to be seriously injured.

Tony Khan has now addressed the incident on Twitter, saying that it shows why, outside of sanctioned matches, fighting is “dangerous and discouraged”.

“After the #AEWRampage main event, in a brawl @IAmJericho & JAS vs BCC/Kingston/Santana/Ortiz, @bryandanielson’s foot got trapped between the ring & ramp. This is why fighting after the bell is dangerous & discouraged. “

The AEW President went on to thank the individuals involved in freeing Bryan Danielson from his predicament.

“Thank you @AEW wrestlers & staff who helped break up the wild brawl after tonight’s #AEWRampage main event, + thank you for pitching in to push back the ring so that we could safely extract Bryan’s leg from danger.”

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez offered an update on the situation, commenting that he believed that the incident had been a “work.” He explained that Danielson is fine, and everyone laughed about the bizarre accident later on.

Bryan Danielson and his Blackpool Combat Club partner Jon Moxley are set to team with Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz to clash with the Jericho Appreciation Society in an “Anarchy in the Arena” match at Double or Nothing. The bout promises to be a more violent affair than the Stadium Stampede bouts Jericho was involved in when he led the Inner Circle.
