Tony Khan Addresses Chances Of Potential AEW & WWE SuperShow

Tony Khan has addressed the chances of the ultimate Forbidden Door in professional wrestling opening.

2024 has seen more collaboration in wrestling promotions than ever before with AEW frequently partnering up with STARDOM, NJPW and CMLL while WWE has continued its ongoing partnership with TNA while also sending contracted stars to Pro Wrestling NOAH and new Japanese promotion Marigold. While some partnerships were more surprising than others, fans are unanimously in agreement that a collaborative show between AEW and WWE is highly unlikely and verging on impossible.

Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, Khan was asked by TJ Jefferson if he could ever see a scenario where the two biggest promotions in the world would come together for a show:

“I would love if that were possible (doing AEW x WWE supershow). I don’t know that it is, but it would be great if it was possible, for the fans. I think that would be wonderful but, there are a lot of challenging business things in the world of pro wrestling that I think would make that a very challenging thing to do.”

The next time that the promotion is scheduled to collaborate with another company will be on August 2nd when MJF defends the International Championship in CMLL. MJF’s opponent for the match will be Templario.

Tony Khan Names His Favourite Matches

Having now passed 5 years as a promotion, All Elite Wrestling has a number of matches in their back catalogue that many consider some of the best matches of that year. Also during the interview, Tony Khan named the AEW matches that fans should seek out to get a feel as to what the promotion is about.

In a new interview, a WWE EVP has also addressed the subject.
