AEW star Toni Storm has named her dream opponent, picking an often overlooked star who helped define her era in two different wrestling companies.
Toni Storm left WWE under a cloud in December 2021, flying herself home from a house show and almost immediately being released from her WWE deal.
The release came when WWE had made budget cuts to their roster for the best part of two years but with stars like Mustafa Ali, and more recently, Sasha Banks and Naomi publicly walking out or announcing their intentions to leave WWE and not being able to, many were surprised at Storm’s sudden departure.
Toni Storm recently discussed the situation surrounding her WWE exit which some onlookers had put down to burn out but she confirmed that definitely wasn’t the case.
Since then the New Zealander has found a happy new home in AEW where she has quickly made an impression. So much so that Storm will take on Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Forbidden Door in just her eleventh match in the company.
Now Toni Storm has named her dream opponent in a recent AMA with Bleacher Report. Storm picked former WWE Women’s and seven-time IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Gail Kim.
Kim competed in WWE for two spells in the early and late 2000s, however, she is arguably best known for her work in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling where she led the Knockouts division for several years. Gail Kim last competed in 2019 at IMPACT’s Rebellion show losing to Tessa Blanchard.
Toni Storm also revealed that she believes pineapple does belong on pizza and thinks she could “have fun” with 100 chicken-sized horses.
