Toni Storm Makes AEW Debut On Dynamite

Toni Storm

Former WWE Superstar Toni Storm has arrived in AEW!

On the March 25th episode of AEW Rampage it was announced that the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament would begin on Dynamite with The Bunny taking on a mystery opponent.

After days of speculation, and with The Bunny waiting in the ring the mystery opponent was revealed to be Toni Storm. After a back and forth contest it was the debutant who emerged victorious after hitting the Storm Zero.

It had earlier been reported that AEW held an interest in signing Storm, as well as her fellow WWE Superstar Ember Moon, now known as Athena.

Toni Storm made her WWE debut in the summer of 2017, appearing in the Mae Young Classic. She then went on to win the tournament the following year before winning the NXT UK Women’s Title.

After a stint in NXT, Storm became a permanent fixture on the main roster on July 9th 2021.

On the Christmas Eve episode of SmackDown, Storm challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship but was unsuccessful. Just a handful of days later it was reported that she had left the company. Not only that, after appearing at a live event, the star flew home at her own expense, in a move that was said to have left WWE scrambling.

While Storm hasn’t publicly commented on her departure, it was noted that burnout played a part in her decision to leave. Furthermore, it was suggested that her booking during her feud with Charlotte Flair may have also been a factor.

Earlier in March, Storm became the latest former WWE star to launch an exclusive content account, earning more than $20,000 in a matter of hours.
