Toni Storm “Highly Unlikely” To Be Confronted By Former WWE Women’s Champion

Former WWE Women's Champion Highly Unlikely To Confront Toni Storm

While a match between a certain former WWE Women’s Champion and current AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm would be unique, it doesn’t look like it will be happening.

Still in her “Timeless” phase, Storm has repeatedly made reference to Wendi Richter on programming. Richter previously won the Women’s Championship for the second time at WrestleMania 1 after defeating Leilani Kai in the penultimate match on the show. Although many expected this to amount to nothing despite the multiple insults from Storm, Wendi Richter did respond at a signing that if the price was right she would be open to the match if the price was right and even offered the AEW star the first swing.

Unfortunately, a new report has provided a fresh update that has shot the possibility down due to contractual obligations. As reported by Fightful Select, Richter was considered to appear on AEW programming but it now appears unlikely as she is part of a WWE Legends deal. Additionally, it is expected that Storm will stop calling out Richter moving forward as they won’t be able to pay off the angle.

Storm will defend the Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb at Double or Nothing on May 26th.

Toni Storm Calls Out Another WWE Hall Of Famer

Appearing at multiple press conferences following AEW pay-per-views, Storm has not exactly been subtle with her comments directed at wrestlers both in the company and beyond. Prior to Dynasty, Hall of Famer Nikki Bella admitted that at one point she considered becoming All Elite and was close to getting in touch with Tony Khan. When asked about Nikki Bella’s comments at a press scrum, Toni Storm gave a rather unusual response.

In recent news, Toni Storm’s match for the AEW Women’s World Title at Forbidden Door 2024 has been confirmed.
