Tommy Dreamer Claims WWE Star Needs “Better Creative” And A “Top Talent Push”

Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer has heaped praise on Shayna Baszler, claiming that she has more to offer than she’s recently been allowed to show.

Shayna Baszler made her WWE debut in the 2017 Mae Young Classic and went on to become a fixture in NXT.

The former MMA star later won the NXT Women’s Title twice, with her second reign becoming the second-longest reign in the history of the championship. After flirting with the main roster as part of the ‘NXT Invasion’ in late 2019, Baszler moved to Raw on a permanent basis in early 2020.

The star was presented as a ruthless and dominant performer, turning in what is statistically the most dominant Elimination Chamber performance ever. Baszler eliminated every other Superstar in the match to become number one contender for the Raw Women’s Title, losing to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36.

However, since then she has featured mainly in the tag team division, winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles twice. In recent months the former NXT star has teamed with real-life friend Ronda Rousey.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer and Mickie James held a mock WWE Draft and gave a rundown of who could benefit from a change of scenery. During the show, Dreamer said that Baszler deserves better creative as she has the potential to be a bigger star than she is.

“One person that I think is legit [that] needs better creative is Shayna Baszler,” Dreamer said. “I think she looks like such a bad***, she is a bad***, and she also has Ronda Rousey with her. I would like to see something more with the both of them… because I saw her body of work in ‘NXT,’ and I was just like, ‘Man, she’s so different.’ I always like different. Whatever brand she’s on, give her a top talent push. Whether she loses or not, I’m not saying she has to beat the person, but she just is so credible and I feel a change is needed for her.”

Big Win For Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey Scrapped

With Ronda Rousey still out injured, Shayna Baszler has found her own appearances on SmackDown limited. The pair had been due to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles but due to Rousey’s injury, these plans have been shelved at least for the time being.
