“To Work With Him Would Be Incredible”: TNA Wrestler Wants To See Ricochet Sign With The Promotion

A member of the TNA roster is hoping that the company is able to secure Ricochet as a future signing.

The former United States Champion is set to become one of the hottest free agents of 2024 when it was reported that he had given his notice to WWE and would not be signing a new contract when his current deal expires. Furthermore, Ricochet was written off TV as part of an injury angle on the June 10th episode of Raw when he was attacked in the parking lot by Bron Breakker and driven through the windscreen of a car before being taken away in the back of an ambulance.

With the former Intercontinental Champion being an established name prior to signing with WWE due to his work in promotions such as NJPW and Lucha Underground, there is already a buzz as to where the former United States Champion will appear once his contract expires. Although AEW seems to be the most likely choice, one TNA star is hoping that the WWE star joins their promotion instead.

Speaking with Tom Campbell of Cultaholic, Leon Slater discussed the possibility of the high-flyer becoming a part of the promotion and added that he would be a great addition to the X Division, which gained a reputation in the early days of the promotion as having some of the most exciting matches each week:

Again, I think that would be extremely cool (if Ricochet landed in TNA Wrestling). As I think a lot of people from my kind of generation, we kind of grew up on Ricochet. Him and (Will) Ospreay really introduced this new style that we all kind of mold ourselves into so to get to work with him would be incredible for sure.

I think more than anything, I think it’d be a real kick up the ass for us all in the X Division to really up our game because Ricochet… he’s one of the greatest high-fliers of all-time and one of the greatest to ever do this style that we do. So especially for me, I think it’d be a great challenge and I think he’d be someone that I’d really wanna step up to and up my game to face.

Slater is a rising star from the UK who has competed for British independent promotions Progress and RevPro along with his work in TNA and GCW. Slater is a one-time Undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion in Rev Pro and has also previously faced Will Ospreay in the promotion in September 2023.

Scrapped Plans For Ricochet Revealed

The former Intercontinental Champion is not set to make any more appearances on WWE TV unless negotiations drastically change and he is presented with a new offer from the company. Following his exit, another WWE star revealed that there were previous plans for Ricochet that never materialised.
