AEW Worlds End saw more than one TNT Title change.
On the December 6th edition of Dynamite in Montreal, Canada, Adam Copeland finally got his hands on Christian Cage as he challenged his former friend for the TNT Championship.
Near the end of the match, the referee was knocked out, allowing Nick Wayne’s mother, Shayna, to head to the ring and blast Copeland with the TNT Title belt. Cage followed this up with a Killswitch before stomping The Rated-R Superstar’s head on top of the title to get the pinfall win.
The following week, an incensed Adam Copeland issued a challenge to Christian Cage to put the TNT Championship on the line in a No Disqualification match at Worlds End and Cage accepted the terms.
AEW Worlds End Saw Two TNT Title Changes
Before Cage and Copeland faced off again at Worlds End, Cage’s accomplice Killswitch was part of a Battle Royal to determine who would win a shot at the TNT Title at a time of their choosing. Killswitch overcame 19 other men to win the title opportunity, setting the stage for events later in the night.
Copeland lived up to his Rated-R Superstar moniker in his bout with Cage, bringing a level of violence not seen since his feud with Mick Foley back in 2006. In a callback to his classic encounter with Foley at WrestleMania 22, Copeland launched Nick Wayne through a flaming table near the end of the bout.
Oh boy.

With Wayne no longer able to interfere, Copeland got back in the ring and dropped Cage with a low blow and a Killswitch to get the pinfall victory and win the TNT Championship for the first time.
Unfortunately for Copeland, that wasn’t the end of things, as Killswitch appeared behind him and launched a brutal assault, ending it with a Chokeslam on a chair. Just as the former Luchasaurus was considering cashing in the opportunity he won earlier, Cage got to his feet and told him to give him the contract.
Cage then signed it and gave it to the referee before hitting a Spear on Copeland to reclaim the TNT Title, leaving Copeland with the dubious record of the shortest reign in AEW history.
