Wardlow is now a three-time TNT Champion following victory over Powerhouse Hobbs on AEW Dynamite.
After weeks of going up against champion Powerhouse Hobbs, QT Marshall, and Harley Cameron alone, Mr. Mayhem finally got some backup in the form of Arn Anderson, and the WWE Hall of Famer came strapped. Kind of.
Anderson joined Wardlow backstage before accompanying him to the ring for his match against Hobbs. When QT Marshall attempted to get involved, Anderson cut him off and reached for the Glock, this time thankfully just a finger gun. A reference to his famous promo alongside Cody Rhodes.
Marshall tried to escape but was thrown back into the ring by Penta El Zero Miedo and flattened by a DDT from Anderson.
The chaos enabled Wardlow to land his Powerbomb Symphony to score the win. After the match, Christian Cage and Luchsaurus came out on the ramp.
Wardlow’s previous victory came at Revolution where he defeated Samo Joe. However, just days later on Dynamite, he lost out to Hobbs thanks to help from Marshall.
With the victory, Wardlow ties Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara on three TNT Title wins.
Komander Signs With AEW
Also on the show, Jay White made his in-ring AEW Dynamite debut with a win over Komander. It was White’s first match since putting pen to paper on a deal with AEW following his departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
White’s opponent Komander only made his own debut with the promotion back in March, but quickly became a fan favourite with his high-flying performances. Following his match with White it was confirmed that Komander is now All Elite.
