TNA Title Match Announced For Upcoming Episode Of WWE NXT

A TNA Championship will be defended on WWE TV for the first time ever.

Prior to the September 3rd episode of NXT going on the air, Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace uploaded a video to social media to hype up programming for the following week, which will see Raw, NXT and SmackDown all broadcast on the USA Network. Looking to mark the occasion, Grace announced on social media that she would be coming back to NXT on September 10th and would put her title on the line in an open challenge.

Grace last defended the Knockouts Championship on an episode of Impact back in early August and has held the title for more than 235 days.

Multiple wrestlers from the Thursday night show have previously attempted to make history by challenging for NXT Championships at Premium Live Events. Beginning with Grace looking to become a double champion by facing Roxanne Perez at Battleground, fellow star Joe Hendry would also face Ethan Page later in the year at No Mercy. While Grace and Hendry were unable to capture NXT Championships, fans and officials were impressed with their performances.

TNA & NXT Crossovers Continue

Although it appeared that Joe Hendry may not be appearing on NXT anytime soon following his conversation with Shawn Michaels at No Mercy, stars appearing on the other brand look set to continue. At the recent Impact tapings, multiple contracted wrestlers from NXT made appearances.

Additionally, a former World Champion recently made a shock appearance at a recent TNA pay-per-view.

In addition to this, a former WWE star is coming to TNA.
