One of TNA Wrestling’s stars, AJ Francis, could be leaving the promotion as his contract nears expiration at the end of 2024.
In an exclusive interview with Cultaholic Wrestling’s Tom Campbell, Francis revealed he’s open to re-signing with the company if a favourable deal is reached, but he’s also prepared to explore other options.
If the money is right and the deal is right, I would sign tomorrow night. Currently, the deal that I have with TNA goes through December 31st, and January 1st I am open in the wild.
He emphasised his desire for a contract that reflects his value, adding:
I am 100 percent down with the possibility of re-signing with TNA. It’s just gotta make sense; it’s got to be worth what I know I’m worth. Some people get bogged down by a lot of different things when it comes to contract negotiations; mine is very simple. Do I believe you are going to push me the way I deserve to be pushed, and how much money am I going to make?”
Francis credited TNA for the career opportunities he’s received, particularly acknowledging Tommy Dreamer’s faith in him when few others believed.
TNA has done a very good job of giving me a lot of opportunities over the past year… I’ve loved the fact that Tommy Dreamer believed in me. Now everybody’s like, ‘Wow, AJ’s so talented,’ but flash back a year ago when I got fired, the only person that believed in me was Tommy Dreamer.
Since his debut at January’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view, Francis has solidified himself as a top heel in TNA and as the leader of the First Class faction. A former Digital Media Champion, Francis will be the final entrant in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory, potentially his last major appearance in the promotion.
What Did TNA Star AJ Francis Say About Potentially Re-Joining WWE?
TNA’s AJ Francis spoke about the possibility of him returning to WWE and said that he believes it is only a matter of time before he returns to the WWE. Francis previously competed for WWE under the name Top Dolla and was with the promotion from 2020 to 2021 then re-joined the company after a spell away in 2022 until he left in 2023.
