TNA Hall of Famer discusses return plans.
A multi-time Knockouts champion and a one-time WWE Women’s Champion, Gail Kim is arguably one of the biggest names in women’s wrestling. A 2016 TNA Hall of Fame inductee, Kim recently opened up on her intentions toward a return.
Speaking with Ella Jay for A Wrestling Gal, Kim discussed her plans for a comeback. Believing she has a lot more to offer behind the scenes, Kim claimed if a wrestling return ever happens, she has to give “a hundred million percent”.
With that kind of situation, you say never say never. But I feel like I have so much to give behind the scenes, it’s very difficult…listen, if I’m ever gonna get back in the ring, I have to give a hundred million percent because I care that much about what the fans see, my legacy, all that. So it would be a hard decision, for sure. I’m not getting any younger.”
Hanging up her boots full-time in 2017, the former champion occasionally wrestled in 2018, 2019, and more recently, in 2023. Apart from wrestling, she is known for her recent work as a producer in TNA, and a few reality show appearances such as in, The Amazing Race Canada and The Traitors Canada.
Gail Kim Discusses Nixed TNA Plan With Mickie James
Earlier last year, Kim had opened up about a possible partnership plan with Mickie James to boost the Knockouts tag team division in 2024. Unfortunately, things did not work out. Speaking with Ella Jay for A Wrestling Gal in the same interview, she shared more details about it.
It was a potential plan that did fall through. Of course, it would have been so exciting. I got super excited at the idea, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Mickie’s road went another way, and so it just wasn’t meant to be for that moment. That’s all.”
